It’s officially November and the holidays are right around the corner! Is it too early to play our holiday playlist on spotify? We think not. Mariah Carey is done thawing and has officially defrosted.

Below you’ll find some of our favorite ways to experience the holidays in Washington, DC.

1. Downtown Holiday Market

Put on your favorite cozy attire, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy the live musical performances in the background while you browse dozens of local pop up tents. This magical holiday market is worth multiple trips, thanks to a rotating list of local vendors and performances. Maybe you’ll even find a last minute present or you just want to enjoy the holiday atmosphere. Located in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the downtown holiday market stretches across two blocks of F Street between 7th and 9th street. The Holiday Market will be open from November 17th through December 23rd from 12PM to 8PM Daily, and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day November 23rd and December 4th.

2. The National Christmas Tree, but of course.

The National Christmas Tree is located in President’s Park on the White House Ellipse. Each year, original one-of-a-kind ornaments are made representing every US state, territory and District of Columbia. You’ll enjoy nightly musical performances throughout the entire holiday season. The lighting of the 2023 National Christmas Tree will happen on December 15th.

3. DC Holiday Light Displays

Washington DC’s local storefronts in Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Mount Pleasant, Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, U Street and Woodley Park are making holiday shopping in the city extra fun and festive by adorning their mainstreets with colorful holiday light displays and decorations.

4. Capitol Hill Christmas Tree Lighting and Barracks Row Light Displays

We’re excited to announce the grand opening of our very first brick and mortar that will be located on Barracks Row early 2024. We’re thrilled to be a part of the lovely Capitol Hill community. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect location. While we won’t be participating in the barracks row light display competition this year, we sure hope you enjoy all the dazzling holiday light displays on 8th Street SE. There will also be a Christmas Tree Lighting accompanied by a light show on November 18th at 5:30PM at Eastern Market Metro Park.

An absolute must. The magic of Enchant is sure to fill you with the Christmas spirit. Enchant has one of the world’s largest Christmas light mazes where you can ice skate or walk through and enjoy the stunning light displays. There’s even a Holiday Village where you can browse tiny storefronts featuring artisan vendors, specialty crafters, and boutiques – perfect for some last minute holiday shopping. Stay tuned for dates to when you can bring your furry friends for Paw’s n Claus.
